I am in the process of selling my old car and am going to buy an 01 Xterra as soon as that's all done.

I found a great one about 100 miles away, bright yellow, XE 4x4, 110,000mi for $4,000. This will be my backup/hauling/adventuring car for a few years. Hopefully I will get a new car this spring, possibly a 370z although I still want a Lotus Exige... we'll see about that one.

Anyway, just thought I would say hi since I'll be in here a lot learning what I can. My first upgrade will be alarm/remote start for the winter ahead but it sounds like all have alarms and some even have remote start from the factory?

I'd still be interested in a long range (.5-1 mile) 2 way remote with alarm/start/lock and anything else that would be of use. I searched through here and didn't really find much that was recent and was for the 2001. Anyone have any advice or links to some models that would be compatible? I have a long history of audio installs and other general mods so I think I can handle it on my own, if I can just find out what to buy. lol. Anything in the $125-$250 range would be good.

Thanks!

Welcome to CX!

Be sure to doublecheck the maintenance schedule on the X you are looking at. With that mileage, it needs to have the timing belt and water pump replaced (Nissan recommends it done at 105K). If that has been done then you're golden for another 100K.

As for your accessory questions... hopefully someone can help you there. You may browse the ICE section of the forums under Interior Mods.
