I think I have it narrowed down to only a few tires. Looking for some recommendations.

As for some information about the truck and how it will be used, I have 1 gen at stock ride height with the 17" s/c wheels. This truck is used as a commuter mostly. It see's mid-western 4 season climate with a lot of (possibly freezing) rain in the spring and fall with potential large amounts of snow in the winter. I also use it to tow a 4-5000lb trailer fairly regularly in the summer. I would potentially take it wheeling next season and thereafter but it would be pretty light duty compared to what is done around here.

I put anywhere from 15 to 20,000 miles/year on my vehicles, generally.

I am planning on doing 265/70/17's for replacements of the stock size (265/65/17). If the price were right i could probably be convinced to go with 285/70's as I think I see I can fit these without too much modification, just a little plastic trimming or removal?

So, this is what I am currently looking at but am also up for other suggestions. Am planning on buying around early November.

Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrack's. Haven't decided on the C of the E rating but both are around $740/set from tire rack.

Nitto Terra Grappler's. E - rated are around $755 shipped from discount tire (ebay store price, their site is down right now)

My low priced option is the Goodyear Wrangler ATS. C load rated are 560 from tire rack. My father said he has these on his Avalanche and gets 60k+ miles out of them.

Other things I've considered are Bridgestone Dueler at revo 2, Firestone Destination A/T, and Scoripian ATR's but thought more of the DuraTracks and the Terra Grapplers.

Any input is appreciated.

BF Goodrich A/T?
I've always had good luck with those on my other vehicles and will most likely replace my stock tires with a set of them when needed.
Just comes down to how aggressive of a tire you think you'll need and/or which ones you think would look better on your rig.

Ice heard some questionable things about the bfg at's in the snow. I would give up some dry or mid grip for snow grip, to be honest.

And I will probably end up going with a lower load rating even though I would like the stiffer walls for towing. it will end up making most of the tires I am looking at between 150 and 200$ cheaper per set. Unfortunately that budget concerns are a heavy factor right now. If I were going to spend 200 per tire I would probably go with some duck cepek's and call it a day.

I found a set of 275/75 goodyear mtr's on eBay for 775 shipped. Cool looking tire, good reviews, but way out of the range of what I have been looking at.

I've used the Dueler REVOs many times before. GREAT in the snow and dry handling. Great pricing too.

i have destination a/t's on my x and haven't had a problem with them in snow, ice, light mud/offroad. i chose them based off of reviews from tire rack and discount tires and price was a concern of mine at the time of purchase. duratracks look good but probably too new to get a good amount of reviews.

Really? I had them and they did fine in snow. Here's me, with the BFG AT K/O's....driving around on a lake:

Terra Grapplers ROCK for an A/T. http://www.titantalk.com/forums/images/smilies/rocker.gif I've had BFG A/T and wasn't impressed with anything other than their looks. The Nitto have worked out much better for me. My next set will likely be Cooper Discoverer STT though because they are a great priced M/T. :D

In the 265/70 size of the terra grapplers there is about a $175 difference between the P designated 113 service rating and the LT D rated tire of the same size. Would it be worth it to go with the LT spec or should I save my money on this one?

That's your call. The LT rated hold up better for towing, are more puncture resistant, and I think the treads might last longer than the P-rated. But, they are also a little heavier than the P-Rated and burn a little more gas to spin them. I have the LT Rated ones and they're great.
