So today I had the timing belt replaced and a couple of other things (I don't know what else, the used car dealer did it and paid for it)

as I was driving home this box felt at my feet. I made a couple of stops and at one stop the car wouldn't start, so I took the keyout and tried again. Also I was going down the road and the radio and everything quit for a half a second. I got home dropped my stuff off and went back to the x and now it won't start. The odometer doesn't show and it doesn't even try to crank at all. The power locks don't work and the windows don't go up either and rain is on the way.

The box has two flashing lights one green and one red while I was driving around the green was flashing and now both red and green are flashing. The box looks like it was tucked up under the dash

Help?

Here's the box:

maybe an aftermarke kill switch but maybe not with all the wires. Try to follow the wires and see if there is a loose connection.

I bet the wires lead to an alarm system, and that the box is an ignition kill switch. As Mike said, follow them and see if there is a loose connection. My guess is the wires in the black tube go to the ignition switch and the other harness goes to an alarm brain.

So I talked to the mechanic who came out to the house to fix it. He said it was a gps reciever and that almost all Nissans have it. Kinda like a built in lojack. The reciever is tied directly into the security system and there was a loose connection (I fixed it before he got there and got it running again).

Well it was tied directly to the security system. I bought the X at a Buy Here Pay here place I don't know if the car dealer had him put it in.
