I'm going to pick up some 4'x8' plywood this week; strapping it on the top.

So, what have you fit in your X? What year is it? Any surprising fit issues?

I fit a full sized up-right freezer in the back. I was impressed.

I also fit my Shrock front bumper in the back (not as impressive).

I have also fit the GF, two kids and full camping gear for a woman in the back. (She doens't pack light). We even wheeled the entire day full of the gear.

i drive an 05, and it used it heavily to bring things to my new house after i moved. i have a real nice enclosed trailer, but didn't want to have to hitch it up everytime i brought something home. i brought a new lawnmower in the box, a new bbq grill in the box, and my home gym in the box all home in the back of the x with the seats down, and was able to fit all of the stuff in there without even having to take out my subs in the back. i was quite impressed. i also traveled back down to nc from my parents house over thanksgiving with a ton of stuff in the back, including a bookshelf and a dresser. on another trip i had both my road bike and my mountain bike back there. there's way more room in the back than i ever thought and all of the tie down locations make it so easy to keep your cargo from moving around. my dad was standing out in the driveway just watching me saying, "you're never going to fit all of that in there," as he and my mom both drive jeeps and don't have anywhere near the same amount of room. needless to say, he was quite impressed, but quite after i got everything in, shut the tailgate, and was ready to head for home. i haven't used the roof rack for anything yet, but i don't imagine you'll have any problems strapping down the plywood to the rack and driving with it.
