I have been thinking of painting the roof rack bars for awhile now and i was woundering if anyone has a recomendation on how to or the best way to do them. I want to Paint them black for future "blacking-out" and but yet want to paint the "X" in red with the other lettering in white or all red. Any rocomendations on paint? and how to?

We can make you custom masks to paint on the lettering if you want or you can just go vinyl, it's up to you. Just PM me.
If you do a little searching, there are many treads on here about painting the bars themselves. If you have trouble finding them let us know.

It the current paint good? If so, you just have to prep it well and scuff the current finish. If it has pealed in spots, it's a little trickier. Raw aluminum is difficult to paint correctly and takes special steps to prep.

i would vinal the xterra or reverse and paint it thought the vinal. i would remove the bars, remove the plastic, light sanding of the bars, hang up somewhere you can paint at prefrably not next to your cars or house be aware of wind and moisture.

I recently painted mine and I used Krylon high heat for grills on mine. So far so good on the durability...

Remove the rack and use sand paper to prep the surface. Paint the color of your choice.
Lettering? Grab some paint markers from a local hobby store.

Does the spray on bedliner allow you to put the xterra sticker back on?
