My x has oxidation on the outside of both headlights and i was just wondering if anyone has cleared up their headlights with anything. i saw some headlight restorer at autozone and some other places does this stuff work?

I had good results using Meguiar's PlastX polish/cleaner and a Mother's Power Ball.

I've had good results on my Altima using simple rubbing compound with a buffer, then stepped to cheap polishing compound (turtle wax I think) with the buffer again, and finally used some Scratch X which is a finer polising compound with the buffer. Looked like new when I was finished. If you do this with a buffer, tape off the area around the headlight so you dont get swirl marks in your paint.

You can also wet sand them with 1000, 1500, 2000 grit.

After reading this pist , I went to autozone and picked up a rubbing compound by 3M and used it on all my lenses. They look like they just came off the assembly line.

Did you use a buffer? Or did it by hand?
