I was looking for a light bar for the roof rack, but i didnt want to pay 60 dollars from 4x4parts.com. So i figured i would start off with a cheap set from walmart (19.99 + tax) and im real impressed with the outcome i wired it myself due to the wiring it came with wasnt long enough. all i used was the top wind deflector screwes to hold the lights. after a while i will proab put a second set facing the rear but i dont know yet. it is in line with all the other mods that will come to my X.

Very nice. Where did you run the wires and put the switch?

the pos and neg wires are straight from the batt, they are ran along the firewall and through the doorm under the dash and the switch is on the console near the gear shifter next to my bass knob. and then from the switch the wires are ran back under the dash and up the seal ( i pulled the seal off and ran the wires then put the seal back ) then i took the wind deflector off and ran the wires up the roof rack held them in place by zip ties (it looks a little tacky) i used the top mounts for the deflector. ill post some pics as soon as possable to help illustrate.

thanks for the complement. i'm still working on putting some more plastic around the wire's also i had to drill some holes into the light bar so that i could wire tie the wires or they just dangeled there, and i couldnt have that.

Well I also have installed lights but cant decide how to give them power. I have run all the wires and mounted the switch but im not sure where to wire them. I looked at both fuse blocks and they seems like they are kinda tough to get to. Have you had any problems with wiring your directly to the battery??

i dont think he has, i have my hellas wired the same way and ive had no problems either, but my ground isnt to the battery i forgot where i put it, somwhere on the frame, i believe i used and old ground wire from a previous set of lights i had, same with the signal wire, i used one i already had tapped into my parking lights

yes ricer when we wired yours i used the same ground and signal wires from your old set of driving lights you kept submerging under water....
as for mine i used power from the batt. and i dont remember what i used for the ground ( i will look tommorow ) and also i didnt use a relay just straight wire from the batt...

Look at Ebeauchea's Xterra. He has 2 Hellas mounted to the factory plastic grill and 2 more mounted below the factory bumper. He says it is a stable platform and doesn't get a lot of vibration when he's offroad.

Keep in mind the legality of this. In CO at least, you can only have 4 lights on at once as headlights, meaning anything on the rack is illegal unless there are covers.

Not that I care, just something to consider

Very clean work Jason!

yea in ohio you cant have any lights above the bumper on...I live out in the country so i usually run my lights when theres no one coming for a couple miles...I think the lower ones would be nice for fog...the fog lights on there now dont do a whole lot.

ok so i finally got around to rewiring my lights since i never added a relay..... and let me tell you i found alot of wire and connectors that were melted and from now on i will add a relay to everything i do... LOL i will add a pic later of one of the connectors that i found... i took out my switch and wired the relay to the fog light bypass that i did so for now i will be able to use the fog light switch on the stalk (i dont know where i want to put the new switch i got) i also added a fuse panel by the battery so i dont have to tap into the fuse panel under the dash with the add a fuse anymore...

also since i added the relay my lights are alot brighter.....

My light bar is similar to ac but I made mine for $8 . Bought the metal from lows and that was it already had all the hole just had to cut it .
