: 1994 Jeep Wrangler Sport(YJ) Clunkered :(
saberz 08-25-2009, 08:45 AM So I haven't been home much at all due to some personal issues with the family(basically only home for sleeping till I find a place). Don't really talk much, but I had a 1994 Jeep Wrangler with some 200k miles since new(was my brothers, then mine in 99, and has been a spare vehicle till 02, and was driven by my brother again daily from 2002-2008 and was then put in service as a spare vehicle in case we needed it).
My father was driving a 91 Lumina which is on its last legs, he was against buying a new car, but this morning I walked outta my house(I guess I didn't notice it last night when I came home) I see a 09 Flint Mica Camry parked where my Jeep used to be. I literally shed a tear, granted I haven't driven the Jeep recently ever since I got my Xterra but when I had my tC that Jeep was my winter buddy.
I feel kinda empty inside, like an old buddy passed away. Just rambling but have any of you felt attached to a vehicle. I mean this Jeep was my very first car in HS, driven through College, it was the one ride that gave me the most memories. I just keep thinking of them pouring the glass fluid in the engine and seizing her on the spot :|
Can this be moved to the General Forums(thought I was in there).
TN4x4Xterra 08-25-2009, 11:40 AM Bummer man....
TimRich 08-25-2009, 12:01 PM That sucks...
03blkX 08-25-2009, 12:25 PM i def. feel your pain man. :engel-big:
soccerbrace 08-25-2009, 12:35 PM Yeah man, that sucks. I would probably cry for a certain few vehicles that I owned. I was super attached. Why do you think I am buying another engine for my MR2? That's why. Because I love it, and it is not done. It has a long healthy life ahead of it. I am truly sorry. You have to really be in love with a vehicle to have that much attachment to it. I am sorry dude.
saberz 08-25-2009, 01:36 PM Thanks all,
Yeah I actually wanted to start fixing her up and get her going. Was a fun vehicle to own, but whats done is done.
Once all this wedding craze is over and I have some spare change I'm gonna have to pick up a hobby vehicle for me to work on besides my Xterra (love working on her little by little though sometimes I'm lost). MR2's are nice cars, what year MR2?
Thank you all for your comments.
soccerbrace 08-25-2009, 01:42 PM Mine is a 92. I am throwing a stock 93 engine in there. I would love to throw a 6 bangert in there, but 250 for a used engine is right up my alley. Couple hundred bucks more for a timing belt, and water pump, and some basic stuff (gaskets, etc.) and I have a great engine capable of another hundred thousand miles :)
saberz 08-25-2009, 02:05 PM An engine at that cost is a steal, and that body style, whew killer looks =)
J Everett 08-25-2009, 05:24 PM I had a '98 Ranger that I abused the hell out of and she never left me stranded anywhere. I still see her around, but I get the feeling that the CARS program may have led to her demise as well. That would be sad, I still miss that little truck. I should never have sold her to buy my Focus.
Xterra Mike 08-25-2009, 05:55 PM if someone in my house did that to my 89 Blazer with 195k thats sittin in my garage i'd be in jail right now.
soccerbrace 08-25-2009, 06:11 PM seriously! Death to a human who kills a car! I had to kill one the other day:( 94ZJ
CUBSin2079 08-25-2009, 06:23 PM As the owner of a TJ and an XJ every time a jeep dies, I cry a little inside!!
Pumpkin 01-28-2010, 08:18 PM That program is such a waste! Think of all the money there could be made in the engines and parts! Im so glad they don't do it here in Canada.
soulsaege 01-28-2010, 08:30 PM What program? this is news to me. they actually ruin good vehicles as a program?!

soulsaege 01-28-2010, 08:44 PM lol .... what did you think cash for clunkers was?
government paying money to the community to help the economy. but at what point do they have to ruin the thing? they can go to scrap yards or be sold as hobby cars and project cars
BigDog107 01-28-2010, 08:54 PM It was meant to get gas guzzlers off the road and destroyed so they can't be used ever again.
