Hi all, we have an 07 X that we bought new and like almost everything about it except the mileage sometimes but all and all it's a great truck.
I do have one question though, we have a 19' travel trailer that weighs about 3000 lbs. Our X has an auto tranny, should we turn the OD off when we pull our camper? I tired searching but didn't find the definitive answer that I was looking for. We're going to pull the camper to the Black Hills and just want to make sure we don't damage the tranny.

I would say yes, turn off the OD. I tow a boat for work and "tow mode" for both the F150 and Chevy 2500HD that I use turns off the OD. The owner's manuals for both also say not to use cruise control while towing. If you plan on towing frequently, I suggest adding a trans cooler too and increasing your LOF frequency.

Check your owners manual, I'm 90% sure I read in there, that yes you should turn it off when towing a trailer. (but check just in case, lol).

And (FL Backpackonwheels) suggestion on a trans cooler is a good idea for 1st gens (00-04), but 2nd gens (05 and up), have them already factory, so you're all good to go.
