So I've found this GREAT site and have started slowly working on my X named "TURK" (from scrubs tv I always name my trucks after something on that show) I lost my 06 Frontier in the Tornado's that hit Murfreesboro, TN on Good Friday so I thought id try a X I dont think Ill be able to Mod it up as fast as some of you guys but Im starting......

Thanks man.. was so easy to hook up too... just used the plug for the lighter unplugged it then put the pos and neg in and plugged it back in .. Both work fine this way
And that CB fit with just a little trimming and a little drimmel work took 30 min total

The hard time was due to some rust on the old bolts that hold the bracing by the front tire.. broke two... SIGH now Im going to have to make something due.. Hit the rest with some PB Blaster The other PINA was it was starting to get dark and I had like two bolts left... I think im going to leave the bumper on it and paint it like that

Does anyone know if you can remove the NISSAN logo or did you have to tape it up and paint over it..

I used one spray can of paint (dark grey shadow) for my grille only. Probably about more than 3 coats on it. Still holding up well.

I didn't bother painting my bottom bumpers since I was replacing them with Shrock.

As for the logo, pull it SLOWLY or best to pry it out with a flat head screwdriver little by little...just being safe than sorry.

I think I am gonna do that with mine....except with yellow.

I used the same krylon paint as the outside.... Be sure to wash what your going to paint VERY VERY well... because of (armor all) people use on there dash... I had a couple small spot the paint didnt want to take to... because I didnt get all the oils off..

Nope! Nothing but the plastic... When I cut the tray out. I went real slow...
The angle the tray slides in was perfect! so if you do this.. take your time..
the speaker at the bottom sticks out just right too! I have no issues with Volume either.. I think I took a pic under it.. If you want I can send more pix!


So me and Xterra04 did our PML's and this was sooo easy! On Xterra04's we did the PML, Steering stabilizer and Idler arm Took about 4 hours...

My PML we did last and did it in 35 mins! Air tools and and a nice warm garage helps!

Those shackles look freakin huge! I didn't realize they would be so much bigger than the stock ones. I'm glad I ordered the AC's after seeing this. They were supposed to be here over a week ago but it looks like UPS lost them. I've started a claim with AC so hopefully mine will be here soon. You're painted dash really does have a custom look. Just what I need... more ideas!

Its doing great! I was very careful putting it all back together...

what all did you take apart? also how did you prep it

Damn Grant. There's some screws(not sure how many but they are all visible), take them out and everything comes off. Sand it with some fine grit paper and throw the paint on. I guess there are just screws, that is all that is holding mine on there.

Edit: I thought you were asking how to take it apart lol My fault.

After looking at it for awhile, I'm thinking you may want to make the front hoop taller. It'll give you room to mount lights underneath it where they will be more protected. It'll also protect your grill more.

I have the smaller lights up front... Plus its more for looks.. I dont see the need in the big pre-runner bar..... And I doubt ill ever mount big 6" lights up front...

I love Kuma's too Where he wheels I can see the need for the taller bar... Its really just for looks and maybe a tow spot if needed.........There would be about 3.5" so my Norther tool lights will work under it... Would only have two there... Plus the 4 Hella's ill have on top! then two lights in the back.. and one on each side! Still working up the wiring for all that.. Im thinking of running the wires down the middle of the rack on top!

Ya. Running the light wires thru the roof rack and then into the cab makes for a nice, clean install. Got any plans for a switch panel for those lights?

Nope... We tried on Xterror04's but couldnt get the T-bars out... So Just cranked! I felt like I could have went more.... Didnt even come close to the bump stops... Unless I was looking at the wrong thing....

BTW - a lot of the look is from removing the stock step rails....without the step rails, the truck will look MUCH taller....as it opens up the visual space UNDER the truck.

For the upper bumpstops, the ones that hit when the UPPER control arm comes DOWN (Under upper control arm...), you want roughly 1/2 - 3/4" of clearance between the upper stops at ride height.

You ALSO want to go get a new wheel alignment before you prematurely wear out the outer edges of the front tires.

Thats all I got. Mine rides just fine...and they got a dead on alignment. I only had a very slight caster problem...that they can't fix because of the bolts being seized. But it doesn't seem to bother my handling so idc.

1/2" is perfect, Sure looks good with the pml

Wiring is pretty easy once you get it all figured out. Did you wire a switch?

How many amps is it pulling? Did you wire a fuse?

I wired two switches... Each set of lights are on a fuse.. Northern Tool lights are 55 watts each so there is a total of four... And as of now I have the Two Hella 1900's @ 100 watts each on the other switch... Just moving around so give me a few and Ill post up pix!

Ill need to bump up to a better battery one day and Alt. As I see it right now Im not running these enough to matter

Ya you got like 40 amps of lights between the 6 of them.

How big of a fuse did you use? I have a 30 amp on my roof lights.

Awesome dude. They work too...when I decided to put a different switch in...when I unhooked the old swithc i accidently hit the steering stem with the connector....big ass spark and the fuse blew...lol

There were nine people in the building when the Tornado hit... no one had even a scratch... I was first on the scene..
I just knew I was going to pull some friends out dead.... I wish I had some pix of my company truck.. as I drove up! It was all black out..about 15 min.. after it hit. I wrecked my f150 it to power lines as I drove up... was a very scary day!

Funny thing was I had 4000 dollars in musical gear in my Frontier... I was going to trade some gear for a couple jetskis that night...

That poor truck died with only 32,000 miles on it 15,000 dollars damage to the Frontier... wrote me a check for 20,000 and I only paid 18,000 for it! SWEET!

What you cant see is it was sandblasted flooded the insides were sandblasted...
driver side had major dents that just didnt show up in the pix it would have made a ok truck if I wanted to keep it.. but it was smelly BAD! we had 3 days off rain after all this and it sat there.. till my insurance could figure out what to do... They had 1000 cars hit all at the same time..

Ya and it would have needed all new paint and probably like 15K worth of just taking stuff apart and painting it I bet.

Or else it probably would have been more rusty than my X....lol

Maybe BD... Im thinking BFG KOs or the Goodyears Duratacs Seen both in action this weeked.. I have to say Ive been drawn to the BFGs but I feel the Goodyears out did them this weekend

I think the duratracs are great. If they had not been more than the Vatiivas I would have went with them. They are bad ass.

I watched Proamendment / Greg do some nice things with them.. Climbed rocks very well plus in the mud they just rocked.... How much were your tires?

I paid about 600 for my tires...but looking at tire rack is looks like duratracs are about the same. I must have been confused...lol

So I had to get new Antenna... dropped it down to a 3" this time... The ole 4' was just too tall!

Some one asked about the mounting of the Cheap Rack I bought... I had to Mod it some...
The black bars that came with it had to be bent just a little... and I didnt like the plates that came with it..so I bent some of my own.. still for 60 total.. It was well worth it..
