Mods for the X are being sidelined in favor of this project. I have had this for about 5 years now and haven't really worked on it a whole lot. I lost sight of where I was going with it and became discouraged. I recently rediscovered my goal for this car and will be resuming the restomod process in a week or two.

Without further ado:

When I first got her:

As she stands today:

Stock 302ci V8 w/2bbl carb pulled from a 68 Torino(*):

Engine/trans coming out again so I can do this as right as I can from the (new) get-go.

(*)My dad had two Torinos, a 68 with the 302 in it and a 69 East Coast (we used to live in VA) rust bucket with a 428 Cobra Jet. His plan after buying the 68 was to swap the 428 into it. Soooo, after I liberated the 302 for my Mustang, I kept pestering him that we needed to put the 428 in the 68...he never did...and ended up selling both cars on ebay. If I had had the cash at the time, I'd have bought them, just for the 428CJ. Oh, well...what's done is done.

I'll update this thread as the project progresses.

Cool Project. My wife used to have a '67.

BTW, are you going to be able to make the lunch deal with all of us on Sunday?

You definitely made the right choice on what vehicle to work on. The 67-68 body styles are the nicest ones, at least I think so. I had a 68 with the a 289 and the C4 tranny. I wish I never have sold it.

Good luck with the build and definitely keep the pics coming!!!

Thanks! And to think I was considering selling it...gasp!

Creepy: yeah, I'll be able to make it. I'll check in on the PNW thread to see what's up.

NICE!

I have a 67 coupe as well that i'm restoring.

If you need any advice or help or whatever let me know.

here's a few sweet tips.

A 351 fits in there nicely with no major mods. I dropped a windsor in mine.
80's Ford Granada front spindles bolt straight in. Easy disc conversion.
Making a Ford 9" fit behind it is a lot of work- but waaaay worth it

:D

Thanks, Stu. I have to find all my (2+ year old) catalogs for future orders.

I wish I had a 351 to drop in there, but I can live with the 302 for a while.
Definitely gonna do the spindle/disc swap.
Would love a 9" out back...but like I said earlier: need more $$$$$$$$$. lol

Nice coupe! Looking to start one of those as my own restomod project here within the next few months. Good luck with the restoration. If you need any oddball parts- PM me.
