adding OEM sirius..

coudlnt find any threads.. i definitely want OEM. I already have a couple sportsters/boombox, and oem in our Jeep. I want no unit hanging off my dash, OEM is for me.

the question is, i saw 3 parts to buy:

a tuner = $300+
a mounting bracket = $10
an antenna = $70

Anyone know if the bracket and antenna come in the $300 kit?

thanks

I'll be the one finding out i guess, I just ordered the OEM sirius kit. Only $232 + shipping. "Lee's Auto" or something.

I'm in the same boat, but with XM... Please post your experience, because I can't find anything about OEM installs either, and I'm hesitant to go to the dealer over it....

"So, I bend over this desk, and y'all install the receiver?!?!"

I didnt use most of those parts. almost none. Just 4 bolts, 2 nuts, 2 brackets, 2 tie wraps, tuner, antenna.

This is how you attach the brackets to the tuner before installation:

This shows where both sides attach when you put in the drivers side kick panel:

This shows the antenna, the roof looks fuzzy, but it was just my camera:

Showing antenna connected to tuner. Also connected the OUTER harness only.

Shows the extra antenna cord wrapped up cleanly:

Thanks for the pics and the info. How long did it take? Anything really unusual that I should know?

Thanks again; awesome pics and feedback!

I will be putting up for sale this OEM SIRIUS unit today. I am selling the truck and the guy said he would not be using it. It is already deactivated and pulled from my truck, took 10 mins. Although it was still working, SIRIUS takes a few days to deactivate I guess. The radio account was removed from my billing page so thats all I care about. Asking price will be decided when I post the ad.

Fixed some of my pic links from this ancient post. I dont think my 2008 S trim has a prewired harness for this unfortunately.
