So I get out to the X today to go to work, it has a "rocky start." The radio was the first thing to turn on, then my instrument panel lit up, then it started, while clicking and shaking strangely, but it started. I get about 2 miles down the road and my ABS light is flashing oddly, then it dies. I pull to the side of the road, and begin checking things out. I bought a new battery this past thursday, so I just assumed that I had a loose connection.

I noticed that my negative terminal is pretty corroded so i take off the terminal and clean it up and reconnect it. Get back in the X, try to start and nothing. The only thing that seems to be getting any power is the radio. No instrument panel, no dome lights, no security red light, nothing but the radio.

I had someone from work come and they tried jumping me and still, no lights, instrument panel, just the damn radio. I feel like this eliminates the Alternator as the culprit because my battery wasn't fully drained as I still got power to the radio.

I get it towed to a mechanic and they tell me the battery is shot, and they cannot do anything until they get a new battery.

I have been searching and searching the internet and I have a feeling its the IPDM.

I am going to the mechanic 1st thing in the a.m. to take the battery (which I just bought, to Autozone to get another one.) I am going to let the mechanic do everything from there. I just refuse to purchase a new battery when the one I have is only a week old. I want to suggest for them to check out the IPDM to try and cut on the diagnostic costs, but I dunno if my year even has one.

Anyone had similar issues/suggestions?
