Ok well its time for another one. This is going to be a little more wet and wild on a new trail. Snorkel's recomended but not required. Which weekend works for you guys? I know there are a few wheelin trips goin on in Sept throughout the area but lets see whos in for the Piney's. I will be on Vacation the first weekend in Sept so thats out for me. Same trip as last time. Campin at the Atsion Family campground Friday night, wheeling Sat, campin Sat night and wheeling Sunday for anyone who wants to wheel.

might have to join the fun. i'm gonna try to swap out my At's in the mornin if the rain stops. That is gonna make the decision if i make it or not. Like i said over the phone, if i'm there at 10am i'm there. if not then i probably won't be makin it. I'll call if i'm runnin late.

I can see if any of my other friends will want to go. My trucks still dead, i'm still unemployed, but if I can find a sucker, er, um, friend, that will get his truck, hopefully just messy, then i'll make an appearance.

It's official! My wife and I are in. My buddy just finished lifting his 94 4Runner and has been dying to take it out so we're riding with him. He's a v6 with 4" on 33's. He rebuilt his front rear with a locker. He's using my Mud Rovers so part of my truck will be there. LOL!

I may also try to convince my other friend to come as well. He's a 94 Toy Pickup v6 with 33" muds and a rear locker.

I still have to call but my other friend might go. He's got a XJ. I think he's on 33's as well.

They're all good people who love the pines so it should be a blast.

P.S. Will we try to find Quarter Mile????

Hey - I was out with Mudboy and Dom last night, and that section of wet trail that has that deep drop off in the middle, with the RR tracks to the left (If heading away from Hampton Furnace Rd), is part of 1/4 mile....and, I found a way across it....go to the right bank, and hug it around.

It was VERY deep last night...the beach we typically park on while looking across the deep part, was under 3' of water.

I also managed, FINALLY, to kill the POS 80 amp stock alternator....not on the trail, but on Rt 206 N on the way home. Thank GOD for Yellow Tops.

So, the 180 amp alt in my garage finally has its chance to be installed.

We also went two places that were posted as part of Wharton, but the State Police for the Parks said it was private property...so we didn't get to play there, not sure what was up with that.

Apple Pie Hill had been vandalized, someone climbed up, cut off the lock, went in, turned on the lights, smashed out the windows, and threw stuff out to the ground below....then put their OWN pad lock on the door, and left the mess.

I have a sneaking suspicion that those A-Holes caused a "Crack Down" on off roaders lately.

So, anyway - the places we would normally go, like 1/4 mile, etc...are fine, no problems.

No, I turned my GPS on to do that, and, for some reason, never remembered to actually enter anything. Part of the problem is my GPS is from 1999 or so, and actually entering something takes like 5 minutes of scrolling up/down for each individual letter, etc.....so I keep waiting for a lull to stop driving, and start entering, but, it never came.

If a hole was slowing us down enough to have time to enter, I'd be strapping someone out during it instead, etc.

Of course, the phone Co signal, and the GPS signal, are completely unrelated....as one is one ground based tower to another, and the other is sent from space based satellites.

The iphone uses GPS, and cell for location. But I don't think it can use the GPS without a cell signal. It isn't "pure" GPS. And it isn't "pure" cell. I will have to try it next run.

We (OK, I) avoided those sections...but, they're there if any one wants to wash their roof off, etc.

The trails we did were either dirt, or wet as in the pics.

There is of course sugar sand, and other terrain there too, but not really where we were scouting.

Generally, water at mid hub height was not unusual, with a few sections that hit the headlights here and there...but, my interior stayed dry except for two instances.

One, I forgot to close the sun roof, and crap rained on my head and back, etc....so I had mud spatter all over INSIDE.

Two, I got caught in an underwater rut, so while waiting to move again, maybe 2" leaked in on the P-side floor.

We'll probably just come down for the day. Actually, I haven't told all my peeps about camping. I'll run it by them this week. I havn't camped out this year at all. If the old lady is down and my friends aren't, then maybe we'll come down in the Xterra and PARK IT and ride with my friends. We still managed to keep the X in showroom shape so far. By the way, she just turned 5k last week in less then 4 months. She'll be modded soon. Just give it time, er, miles.

We just finished installing commercial garage doors about 330, all day in the rain. We were about 5mins from rt70/72 circle at a blueberry farm. Traveling down the 2 mile dirt road to get to the street we were approached by a trash truck. He pulled aside and as we went to pass, the rain soaked soft edge pulled the truck in. Tried to drive out but it was too steep and too muddy for all terrains. All she did was slide in farther. About a hour later a tow truck pulled us out. Well, helped pull us out. The truck was pulling the tow truck so I hopped in the truck and drove out as he pulled. $85 later and we were on our way.

Anyhoo, my 4Runner friend didn't get his rear back, the pickup friend is fighting with his girl (lame excuse), and the XJ has a massive oil leak (so he says). Any chance of a rain delay, say the 26th?
