Y'all know how much I love Infiniti still. When I graduate from Pharm. School I was planning on getting an FX50 or an EX35. But now I must say... I think I'm going to get a new M56!

PEBBLE BEACH, California — Infiniti unveiled its new 2011 Infiniti M sedan using virtual 3D mapping technology during the annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance here. Although a real car was not present, the media got an early look at the final form of the third-generation M, a car which will be sold in all of Infiniti's international markets, some 32 in all.

The M56 will be offered with a 5.6-liter V8 that makes more than 400 horsepower, while the M37 will feature a 3.7-liter VQ-series V6 that should develop about 325 hp. The bodywork has been completely redesigned with a low front end and voluptuous fenders inspired by the sexy Infiniti Essence concept car.

Infiniti says the 2011 M's interior has been upgraded using higher-quality materials, and will offer advanced climate control and upgraded audio. There will be a new blind-spot detection system that will help return the car to its lane if it detects an obstacle.

The 2011 Infiniti M will debut in real (not virtual) form later this year and is expected to appear in dealerships in the spring of 2010.

Finally Infiniti has an extremely strong contender to the 5 series and E- class! The G already has the 3-Series purchasers thinking twice on buying one (My cousin namely). The blind spot detection system should be interesting... The Rear reminds me of the Jaguar XK's rear, which isn't such a bad thing. The dimple on the side of the car reminds me of a 135i.

Also its pretty funny to see how ignorant some people are: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/non_aviation/read.main/2115809/ (Check the comments).

Seriously? This doesn't look like a Buick LaCrosse or Altezza or a Hyundai or a Kia to me. Modern American cars are trying to be more japanese in styling, and modern chevrolets are FAR more bloated and way too "fat" looking. "Plastic Gone Warpy"?. I don't see how the 200sx, the Datsun 710 and the Datsun B210 had a plastic gone warpy in the sun look. The 710 actually is one of my favorite car designs.

The way the passenger's dash curves is very Infiniti Essence related, and the way it has the two tone black and brown leather is reminiscent of the Essence. The front has a Maxima-ish design with G37 mixed into it, which isn't a bad thing.

Overall: The whole car looks far more nimble/agile than the previous model. It really looks like a sports sedan, and with that 5.6 Litre V8 (From the Titan???), it will surely perform like one. The M37 shouldn't take too much of a hit in performance either since the body is looking pretty lightweight... Now if we could just get a successor to the Q45, then we can take on the 7-series and S-class!

That is a gorgeous car....

I always thought the M45 around 2004 was a fantastic looking car, and the current M45 is pretty too.

And my guess is the only thing that M56 engine will share with the Titan is displacement.

It is a beautiful looking car although to me it looks like a cross between the new Maxima and a LaCrosse (not a bad thing IMO). The Maxima and LaCrosse are both good looking cars too. As for Infiniti swaying me from a BMW, not a chance. I absolutely LOVE my 2008 335i sedan! And I've driven both the 5-series and the new 7-series (OMG!) - both are awesome vehicles!

My biggest issue with Infiniti here in Richmond is the dealership. We've visited their lot a couple of times and their display at the annual auto show without as much as a "hello", "may I help you", "kiss my @$$" or anything. Their sales and management staff come across very arrogant and that is a huge turn-off for me. The BMW-Mini dealer experience (as well as Mercedes) is the complete opposite. Our Audi dealer is almost as bad as the Infiniti dealer.

I'll admit that I've never had the chance to drive an Infiniti product to compare (no fault of my own) but after owning BMW, Mercedes and Audi it would have to be a phenomonal experience to match that of the German engineering IMO. The German brands just have a way about them that other cars cannot seem to match. I've owned quite a few vehices over the years - American, Japanese, British and German - but nothing has ever matched the performance and handling of a BMW. Every now and again I get the notion to try something new but I always come back to my Bimmer. :)

Now as for the Japanese brands, I am and always have been partial to Nissan! :D

If you get good grades, get picked up by the right pharmacy, don't get married and have kids, you might be able to afford one! (-:}

That's a nice looking car but I've always thought the G35/37 S coupes where some of the best looking cars made.
