hey all....so i'm on my way to work this morning at the a$$ crack of dawn, stopped at a red light, and BAM! i get rearended. fortunately, no one was hurt, and the x held up like a champ. my trailer hitch actually saved the entire truck. the guy's truck that hit me never got passed the hitch, and didn't make any contact with the tailgate or bumper at all. all i need is a new hitch to be installed, but the frame and everything else on the truck was ok. so, it was quite a crappy morning, but it could have been much worse. needless to say, i'm quite glad that i had the hitch on the x. the last time i was rearended i was in an s-10 and it turned that truck into an accordian

Hello, Glad you are OK! The trailer hitch does do some protection in slower crashes.
Yesterday in my 86 dodge ram 4x4 lifted backing up and hit the guard rail and made alot of noise, attact alot of attention! ...only the trailer hitch ball section hit the rail! ...No damage both ways..except my pride..Aloha

I'm also glad nobody was hurt. Good thing you had the trailer hitch. Is it the original nissan hitch ? What accessories do you have on it. ? Can you post a picture ? Again, glad to hear you are fine.
