hey all!!

I'm new to the xterra world, just purchases a 2006 XTerra S, avalanche white, this past friday. It was a year old, around 17000 miles on it.

Sold my 2001 Trans Am to get back into the truck world..

i do have a question....it looks like the vehicle will need new tires in the spring, and i want to increase the tire size by maintain the stock wheels.

Any suggestion??, th 265 70 16 tires are just too small for the truck in my opinion, i would like something that makes the truck stand a little taller and look a little beefier!

thanks for the help guys, i look forward to looking around on the site and learning more!

You can go up to a 285/75 R16 with a totally stock truck (2005+)

I might suggest the BFG AT KO's, probably the single most popular all terrain tire. Works great on and off road, and in snow. The only thing it doesn't do really great with is thick mud.

Do you really get that much snow down there?

on the occasion yes....md is usually pretty good with road clean up, but they have been a little behind sometimes....i just like to be prepared, i have an hour commute down I-95 to campus and back everyday, plus I work in the city, so I have to be able to get down the road and back at anytime.

In that case, I might suggest the Bridgeston Dueler A/T Revo's

thanks again for the reply, i saw those tires on another truck not long ago, they looked very nice.....just one other question, have you heard of any instance of rubbing with tires this size? i noticed the truck has a pretty tight turning radius, i could only image how far the tires turn in to the wheel wells.

Should be fine, but if they rub on full lock turns, you can adjust your steering stops.
