I have never taken it off or disconnected it, and I've had no problems. I know some people disco it for offroading.

So far I haven't done any "real" offroading.

I'll assume you're referring to the swaybar (more properly, the anti-sway bar), which tries to keep both front wheels in roughly the same position (vertically speaking). A lot of off-roaders remove it to get more articulation out of the front wheels.

From what I've seen, this is good for rock crawling, when more rubber on rock is better. I would never do this trail-running, mudding, or anything at speed.

The problem with the IFS and the sway bar is that keeping it on will prevent your CV joints from hitting too extreme of an angle. This obviously prevents articulation that can help with front wheel traction, but it prevents you from limping off the trail in 2wd because you blew a CV joint. Now, you have a 2wd X, so keeping it on or taking it off will make no difference when off road. On-road, you will feel a lot of body roll with it off.

I have removed the rear on my X and it's been collecting dust in the garage for a year.

On the Jeep, it's a different story. Since it's a solid axle you don't have to worry about the CV joints. I have disconnects on my Rubi and it's disconnected any time it touches dirt. But it's damn scary to drive on the hi-way disconnected.

the reason im asking, is im wondering if it will havev more or less of a chance of rolling over if im riding at an angle on a trail somewhere with it off

Not likely.
