Hey Everyone-

Just joined the forums here, though I have been doing some work already on my Xterra. Here is my question:

I purchased the Calmini AAL package for my 2005 OR Xterra and attempted to put it on today (already have shackles from them as well btw). When I removed the stock package and looked at how to add the aftermarket package is where I became confused. There were stock C-Clamps on the front and back on both sides of the stock leaf springs. These would be to prevent feathering (best as I could describe it), or basically rotation of the middle leaf springs that are in there. With the add-a-leaf package, there is no replacement for these C-Clamps and the stock C-Clamps on there are not adjustable to allow the add-a-leaf springs to fit. Is there a fix for this, or a work around? Or am I just approaching this the wrong direction? Appreciate any and all the help.

I too have the Calmini AAL and I ended up just putting them over the clamps. I did this as I was in a hurry and did not have time to go purchase (or make) new clamps. Once I have some time, I'll be taking them back off and rearranging the leaves and buying new clamps (they can be found at any auto parts store).

I put that AAL on my 05 just a couple of months ago. They didn't give any instructions but, this group was very helpful.
Calmini did answer the questions on the phone and faxed a single page of instructions that were additional help.
In the instructions, they advise to pry open the existing clamps AND, It isn't easy. Re-installing with the added two leaves is even worse. I wound up squeezing the clamps back " against the pack" as they were too small for the fit.
I haven't had any problems or noise but, have purchased a couple of Mr. Gasket clamps because my job looks " crappy".
