I bought it new in 2006 but my wife drives it. I am actually going to get her a diffrent vehicle and start driving this myself. I want to put some mods on it though and make it more me. So i figured the best place to figure out what is what is from people that have already done what I am going to do.
mods WANTED need suggestions
1 lift kit Body and suspension so I can fit 33"
2 Tires MT 33" on offset rims???
3 chip
4 bumper
5 air system (possibly supercharger)
6 exhaust
if you have suggestions send them to me I am open to anything right now

thanks I didnt know that the guy at the tire shop said he thought the stock tires I have on are to big. I tol him surely they wouldnt sell a vehicle like that. I want to put some mud tires on that is why I am asking also would like to lift it a bit
On your X, the width is limiting more than the diameter, as your wheel wells are larger than the 1st Gen X's.
32 x 10.5's are std tires for the 2nd Gen X's like yours....so a 33" tire is only protruding 0.5" more than stock.
:D
So - You do not need a BL to fit 33's if they are 285/75/16's, or other skinnier 33's...but for 33x12.5's, the BL WILL help....but, regardless, you will need to trim back the inner fender's plastic liner, no big deal, a few minutes worth of work.
:D
The SL doesn't make room for larger tires, but does raise your ride height, which helps with approach/departure/break over angles, frame ground clearance, etc.
Are you planning on off roading it?

1 lift kit Body and suspension so I can fit 33" - You can fit certain tire manufactures on stock wheels and fit 33" on a stock X with little modification (melt mod..it's just taking a heat gun and remolding your inner wheel well plastic). As TJ stated, the skinnier the better.
2 Tires MT 33" on offset rims???- You will need a lift for this...since the back spacing will make the tire hit the wheel well. Further more, the more aggressive the tire the more mods you will have to do. Ex. There is a person who had to cut the plastic and metal from the lower part of the wheel well to fit 33" Toyo MT's on Procomps. Note, this person also has a 3" SL.
3 chip- Superchips has one
4 bumper
-Shrockworks
-ARB
-KMA
5 air system (possibly supercharger)- Stillen has a supercharger for the Frontier/Xterra
6 exhaust- Personal preference...you can either get a kits like Nismo, doug thorley, etc..or you can get a muffler you like and have a muffler shop install it for you
