well im on vacation in amarillo tx and while we are up here they get there first snow of the year. we loved it since we are from south texas and it really dont snow there. well i took the X out and about and it handeled well in the snow the rear end slid a couple of times while cornering, but that had to do with my heavy foot. i pulled a couple out of the snow. the only real question i have is when i had to step on the brakes hard, i heard a noise from the brake controler i guess correcting the abs or somthing the tires didnt lock up but it made that noise a couple of times, is that normal????????? It was almost a foot of snow, i had fun

yeah thats totally normal. Here in new england thats a pretty common sound and its a pretty unerving sound. But from what i understand thats just how abs breaks sound. If you didnt hear that sound it would be a problem.

Took a trip to Yosemite last year and was driving in the snow myself and slammed on my brakes, same sound and I checked it out and found out it was just the ABS as you suspected.

Hello, On our way to Hilo town (other side of the Island), it was raining real hard. We look at the mountain (Mauna Kea - Highest in the world from below sea level)...we all wonder if it snowed?

Guess what? There was snow on the top parts of Mauna Kea mountain...our first snow for the winter. (It snows on top every year, we had some in MAY too!)

Can't wait to take our Xterra up there..........Aloha
