let me refraze. not during the season. After labor day you need to get a permit to drive on the beach in NJ but you need certain equipment like a jack and block, spare tire and a strap or tow rope i think.

From the site:
You can drive a 4 wheel drive vehicle on the beach, with a valid permit,
to gain access to areas of the park where you are allowed to surf fish.

The Island Beach State Park issued permits though do not allow
anyone to just drive around on the beach.

That's what I really want to do, my family used to go down there every year, I haven't been down in about 3 years and I always had cars haha. Maybe I'll just wait until september and make the trek down there... It looks like rain today anyway

3rd or 4th time THIS YEAR? Im jealous... Congrats on the marriage/honeymoon, what a nice choice for a honeymoon.. We used to stay in Avon (my favorite) but the last 2 times I was there we stayed in Frisco (nice but very secluded)

Thanks! We r renting a house in KDH (Kill Devil Hills) between the road..about 2 or 3 blocks from the beach :mocking:
There is a Days Inn in KDH right on the beach and during the off season their rates r only $40 or $50/night...so that is where we usually stay at. Wish we were closer..only 5 hours away. I have a friend who lives in VA Beach and he is only about 1.5 hours away...that would be great...would go almost every weekend.

Now dureing the summer months...Oregon Inlet beach access get very crowded w/ lifted Superduties....The area official beach truck HHAHAHA LOL

If you have any questions...let me know

We used to go every summer and stay in Frisco or Hatteras Village. Since we've moved to Florida going to beaches in other states has lost its appeal :)
The OBX is still a great place though and we may start vacaying there again.

I know the OP didn't ask about Delaware but I believe you need a permit to drive on the beach there too, at least in Lewes. As a dumb teen I took my 91 Hardbody King Cab down a beach access trail and got a nice ticket for it.

By the way, you can drive on the beach in Daytona Beach and much of St. Johns county (St. Augustine); if you come down to Florida.
