: Shackles and Ball Joint Spacers
Ricer-X 11-14-2006, 05:58 AM so, i had a hell of an install last nite!
first i get the truck up on the stands, then the wheels off, the rear end sittin on the jack, and realize i didnt lift the truck high enough to get the shackles on(first dilemma)
then the shackles dont really fit, so i go buy two new bolts[the bottom ones didnt fit(they were SAE, so i bought 2 metric)] then i pull out the grease and hammer, got those one. the rear is as high as it used to be.
after which i installed the ball joint spacers which took no time at all, i spent more time with lug nuts on the front, still have to reindex the tbars, and boy do i need an alignment!! didnt have time to get it last nite, had to drive to work. the drive was a little hairy, being that my tires arent sitting flat on the ground...
best off all, i hit my forehead pretty hard on the corner of my new shackles reaching for a ratchet under my truck
Anthony 11-14-2006, 08:53 AM Don't you just love working on the truck? haha
Sorry to hear the install didn't go very smoothly. It sounds about like every time I work on mine...
Ricer-X 11-14-2006, 11:20 AM Yep, It Seems I Cant Install Anything Smoothly, But Its All Worth It!
json3904 11-14-2006, 07:16 PM hey when we instaled my shackles it went smooth but that was mine though.
Ricer-X 11-15-2006, 11:21 AM So Last Nite Working On The Tbars, My Vice Grip Fell A Good 2ft And Landed On My Face!
Then Shortly After That, I Wasadjusting Them, And The Breaker Bar I Was Using Slipped Off The Bolt And Popped Me In The Jaw...
So Now A Have A Busted Lip And A Big Lump On My Forehead!!

Just realized you have ball joint spacers....
Anyfeedback on the experience other than installation injuries on the other parts?
:D
I mean - any problems with alignment, ride/handling, duribility, or other issues?
Ricer-X 09-07-2007, 10:55 AM no probs as of yet, gave me a lil bit more droop, but not very much, 1/2" at absolute most
i had to take mine ot a buddy to get an actual alignment, goodyear fckd it up and basically told me to go screw myselfcuz "we dont do custom alignments"
so i took it to my buddy peter's shop, he got it right for me.
i suggest you trying to get the camber as close to straight as you can before you drive to get it aligned cuz it will throw your camber wayyyyyyyyy off
my bud wasnt able to get it exactly right, but within .05 degrees of dead on for toe, camber and caster.
json has em too, maybe he can add to what i put, i know he didnt get his alignment from my bud peter though.
in all, was it worth the $ i spent? sure why not, had i spent alot of $ on em i would not have been happy at all but for the price its good
json3904 09-07-2007, 07:50 PM i had a problem with the alignment due to the fact that i couldnt find a place that did custom alignments but i found one that got it as close as possable unless i can lift it a little more then it will be good... thats where the ultra low bump stops are going to come into play.... but as to major problems i havent had any...... for the amount they are its worth it
