I have a 2005 Xterra Off Road. I would like to lift it up to 3". I do some off roading - nothing serious. I do however tow alot - 10' enclosed trailer with gear or an atv. I have looked at a Calmini lift for around $350. Would this be the way to go or are there better options? I would like to stay close to this price range.

That would be the kit with the AAL's and front spacers, correct?
I think that would be a good choice.

There are quite a few options out there. Most are in the 2-3" range.
See my post below and then follow the link in that post. Some of the info is slightly outdated as AC now sells replacement Rancho front shocks.

I used the Spacers & Shackles method, but if you are towing, you may want the Add-A-Leafs. If you dont want the spacers, go with taller front springs

or AALs, Springs, Shocks, & Brake Lines: link (http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/index.php3?page=shop/flypage&product_id=3825&category_id=a18d5b35956fbe8fe22d1baba4a08452&ps_session=52e28aa7ad06ec8f62852ffe8959a20d)
I am not sure that either one will give 3 full inches though. Probably more like 2-2.5 and you can get another inch with skinny 33's.

Yes the Calmini kit is the one with the AAL's and the spacers for the front. Is it best to order directly from them?
Thanks for the links

If you plan on adding a bumper and winch in the near future you might want to think about coils in the front because of the extra weight.
You will want the AAL to tow, but I warn you now, the Calmini AAL squeeks like crazy.
I currently have about 2.5" in the front and 3" in the rear (with slight settling it looks about level).
I have the AC Coils up front on the stock Bilsteins
AC Shackles in the rear
Calmini AAL in the rear
AC extended brake lines
Long travel (20% stiffer) Bilsteins in the rear
Removed rear sway bar

Calmini EVERYTHING squeaks like crazy.
(by the way, I hate Calmini, so if you see another lift kit out there that you like... I'd go for that one)
But AALs are better than shackles since you are towing.
