I have just joined the group recently.
I purchased a 2005 Xterra 4wd in Feb.
Being an S model, I have been adding parts to make it a little more
" off-Road " friendly, as it will carry the wife and I into the widerness.

Can anyone advise if I have a dana44 for the rear differential ?

Since it is an S model, is it an auto or manual?

If it is an Auto you have a Nissan C200 rear axle.
If it is a Manual you will have a (M226) Dana 44 variant rear axle.

No matter what, the front is not a D44.

Also keep in mind, there is nothing aftermarket for this D44 varient. We can't even get beefed up covers. It's only a 44 by name.

Since there's no aftermarket stuff, we hope they're good !
