^^^^^^^^^ Thule puts out an A+ product I have found. I picked up a universal 4 board rack from brociety.com, which for those snowboarders out there, is the best website known to mankind, lol

I've heard many snowboarders and skiers say that Yakima is the A++ over Thule which is why I went with Yakima gear.

Speaking of Yakima .... I want to get a FatCat 6 for my 2000 Xterra. On the Yakima web site, the "fit my vehicle" says it won't fit. I emailed Yakima and they said it would fit but it's real close.
Does anyone have a Yakima Fatcat 6 installed on the factory cross bars? Comments on fit?

Good deal, but the link doesn't work.
I've got a Thule 4-board rack that I've had for a couple of years, it's held up well.

I don't know how far the mounting brackets are apart on the Yakima, but on my thule 4 I've only got a couple inches on either side until it hits the plastic part of the cross bar. You could email Yakima and ask them how far apart the brackets are, then measure your crossbars.

I think it's more an issue with the cross bar thinkness for the clamps and not the width.

Ah.
The clamps on my Thule weren't big enough to go around but I just bought longer bolts.

Thule makes a kit, they call it the Xadapt7 .... Thule will be my second choice if the Yakima won't work.
