I went to start installing a alarm/remot starter on my 2000 xterra 3.3l and the first thing i needed to do was to find the tach wire. So i got my multimeter out and started testing wire on the coil. I got to the second to last wire (Black with a red strip) and there was a spark when i touch the multimeter lead to that wire! The interior start making a nasty sounding ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR niose and now the truck will not start!!!!! what did i do and what should i do to fix this? This is my only driver please help ASAP!

Sorry, not sure... Just check ALL your fuses. (don't forget the ones under the hood and the fusible link)

Definetly check the fusable link under the hood. Arced a spark installing a alternator an blew the 30 amp link.
