Hi all,

I'm new to the forum. I have an 06 X -OR. I recently purchased the Harmon-Kardon IPOD integrator. It allows for you to play your IPOD through the stock unit through FM Signal, or RCA inputs.

Anyways, I installed it yesterday. Easy install, no cutting wires nothing. I removed the dash console that holds my AC controls, I disconnected the plugs for all the controls on that console (not 4x4 panel). After I wired up the HK unit, I put everything back together all factory plugs everything. I go to start the truck and notice that my Airbag light in the center console is blinking. It normally comes on for about 10 secs then turns off, but now it is blinking.

The only thing I could think of is that I forgot to plug in the Air bag light located on the center console. I removed the console and reseated the plug. Same problem.

Do I need to reset the ecu? Just an FYI. When the console was apart, I did start the car once with those plugs unplugged to verify the HK unit was working before I installed everything back in. Do you think the ECU still thinks the cable is unplugged?

Any help would be appreciated.

i had the same problem when i replaced the head unit on my 05. i took it to the dealer and they reset the light for me no charge....the mechanic said they get this all the time....apparently if you apply any power to the vehicle with then airbag light for the pax seat unplugged, it trips the sensor and has to be reset. not sure if you turned the key at all before you put the dash back together, but it sounds like the problem you are having. the good news is there is no damage to your x and it's a 5 min fix at a dealer. i think you might be able to reset it somehow yourself, just not sure how to do it. maybe one of the more experienced guys or gals will chime in with how to do it. hope this helps-

Taken from www.thenewx.org

1. Put key in. Turn the key to ON position and watch the airbag light turn on solid (not blinking).
2. As SOON as it starts blinking, turn the key off within one second.
3. Take key out
4. Repeat steps 1 -3 three more times
5. On your fourth time turn the key and the light will go on and turn off , for good within a few seconds

The problem is when you disconnect the wires from the air bag light. I think it comes from starting the car (or at least turning the ignition on) while those wires are disconnected.
