provided that it is still in my "new to me" X...where might I find it? My brakes started sounding like "stone on stone" so I'm thinking I need new pads up front. While I was checking the rotors (they look ok still) I noticed each wheel has a security lug nut.
So where it be?

try under the cargo liner in the back. if not take a 12 pt socket that is one size to small of the lock and bang it on with a hammer. the teeth will grab the lock and you can take them off. throw the locks away there not worth the trouble

Raise the truck. Better theft security than the locks. That way they cant even get the truck off the ground. ;)

Agreed with modxterra.
The trip to Coal Creek, Daniel (Tameroflions) had wheel locks on his X and he had a flat on the trails and he, somehow, didn't have the proper key to remove the lug lock so that put us in a difficult situation but we managed to get it aired up enough to get us off the trails to Sears garage and they were able to do what modxterra said, just got one off at the garage to put the spare on and when Daniel got home, he took all those lug locks off and never looked back.
I have had those before and man, they are a PITA to deal with. Right before I sold the jeep, I was able to get all but one off...I kept shaving the last lug lock and it was shearing the key bad enough to where I can't get it to grip on it so I gave up and threw the rest into the glove box and left it in there the day I traded it in so the next person can deal with it, lol.
Advice - Get those off and get regular lug nuts, its worth it.

pls... pls.. get rid of them. well if you want. i work with tires and they're such a pain where the lord split me.. if someone really wants your wheels they'll find a way to take them. but you can do that whole socket thing or i'm pretty sure if it came w/ the X the dealer will have a way to look it up if you can't find it.

Try by the jack, or in the glove box. I work at Nissan and that is where they are at usually.

i found the key and i already got rid of them in favor of stock lugnuts (4x$3.50 at nissan). I could see where you could get in real trouble with those and around Cleveland they just take the whole damn car.
I had some trouble with the brakes and i figured out why. I had a slide pin that was stuck and caused the inside pad on the DS to wear prematurely. I absolutely LOVE the nissan oem pads ($63!) that are on there compared to the Duralast crap that was on there. Just another example of good advice i found with the search function:).
Thanks for the help guys
