Hey All,
Was out for a little ride today looking for a Geocache actually. Looked like rain so I didn't wanna get caught in it. So I go a new camera a few months ago and I have been messing with it ever since I got it. Well today I changed alot of settings around and I am just looking for peoples opinions on this photo. Be honest about it.

Awesome. What kind of camera and what settings did you have it on? Looks photoshoped. I like the colors. Very soft.

The camera is a Nikon D60. I have been shooting with the camera set for JPEG. I tried RAW tonight cause it gives you more options to edit the photo. Aside from ISO and WB cause I pretty much have a grip on those setting the camera did most of the work. I added some blue color to the sky cause the gold old PA weather sucks. It was really gray.

I put in some contrast and saturation and thats about it. A little brightness too. DSLR's are alot different than Point and Shoots and you have always do a little editing at some point.

Nice work with the pic. I also have a DSLR. Its a Minolta Maxxum 5D. I love it but i'm looking to get into a Nikon. I have always loved the Nikon's. I have to do alot of editing with my Minolta. (alot more than i want to) Here is a Prom i just shot last week and a few camping pics over the weekend. Sorry to Jack your thread.

Preston...I have a few from today I took but I didn't really mess with them to much. The one you see was probably the best out of all of them. On a side note if you wanna check out what the camera can do here is a link to site I have some (most) of my pics on that I have messed with so far. http://jconway23.deviantart.com/

Sucka... I love the camera. Although I think the D60 isn't going to be in stores to much longer. Price wise at the time it was the best for me. Especially not knowing anything about DSLR cameras. The D90 is probably the next cheapest Nikon and I think thats around 1200 or so. The lens is what cost the most really when it comes to cameras. Mine came with one and I've since added another. I'll tell ya one thing this can get expensive. It can also pay off too. Which I am hoping for.

More updated pics are on Facebook since that seems to be the latest craze now... Hit me up on there too. Search Jesse Conway. I'm from Blakely.

Nice pics ya got there. The B&W or Negative campfire is awesome. I like the last shot too. Yeah I think Nikons are the way to go. Canon's are bad but when it comes to actually printing photos you have to do alot more editing. I think right out of the box Nikon is the best bet. Again though awesome shots ya got there.

Plus with the editing its all in how much you know the software. By trade I am am computer tech. I didn't know anything about editing photos. I'm really just starting to learn the software now. Its something ya just have to keep at.

Sick pics. You should come down to Rausch and wheel and do some shooting June 6th and 7th.

I agree. Editing is where you can get the pics where you want them if you know the softwhere but the better the camera the less editing you will have to do. B&W are my favorite. I shoot all my shots in RAW.

Definately agree.

That weekend is bad for me. Got a wedding to go to. Actually from now till August is shot for me really. I really wanna get down there with all of you guys though. I think my suspension is all but shot in my X. I'm still bone stock. I'm doing pretty good with money now and I wanna lift it. At least 3 inches. I've got the mod bug bad. I just don't know where to start.

On a side note here are some of my shots.

This site I posted before isn't to updated in terms of the pics I edited. Here are just a few....

Some good shots there. I have a Canon Rebel XTi. Not too happy with it to be honest. I see all of these bad ass shots taken with an XTi, then mine never look that good. I haven't picked it up in a while. I've been playing around with a more artistic avenue with photography, a Diana+. Medium format film, plastic camera and lens, pretty cool.

Keep up the good work.

I know someone with an XTi and he said the same thing. I've seen some of his shots. My guess and what I told him is. It has to be settings or something. I had a minor issue when I first for mine. Color was dull. I just read and watched videos on my camera and it seems to have helped out.

Check youtube when your bored. Might help ya out alot.

Really it all comes down to the lenses you use on the camera. I am a Canon fan, have a 20D and a cheap lens and I could never get the same results as someone with an "L" lens, but they are over $1,000 so until I can afford one photoshop is my best friend. The use of a tripod is always a good idea too!

I need to do more than paint my rims. I've got a bad mod bug. I've had the X for about 4 years now and its still stock. Thats not like me lol...
