Hey there, I am thinking of buying a 2005 Xterra Off-Road 4X4 with 5K miles on it and I was just wondering what your experiences (good and bad) have been with Xterra ownership.

Thanks.

I love it. I have a first gen and wish I had more power, but with the second gen you won't have that problem at all, since you'll have about 100 more horses.

There are two problems I am aware of with 05's. --

1. Lack of aftermarket (this is improving rapidly)
2. A few people have busted the front diff. (doesn't seem to be a rampant issue at this point)

(Note) that the busted dif if from Wheeling not average everyday use.

Try finding a supercharged '04 if you are looking for a cheaper used model. They are not as strong as the '05 but a big improvement over the no supercharged models.

I have an '03, and agree that the only thing I want more of is horses! Other than that I am in love with mine!!!:love-eyes2-big: I am planning to get a new one sometime in the hopefully near future, but I plan on keeping my '03 because of how great it is.
