Hello everyone,
Looking to buy a used xterra, probably an '04 or '05. No more than 36K-43K miles and somewhere around $14K-16K. Given those parameters and the following I would appreciate some advise from your personal experience in owning one of these bad a$$ vehicles!
Will not use it on trails...
WIll not tow anything...
Want everything power (seats, windows, etc)...
...also, the main focus is to transport my baby-girl.
Which trim would you suggest? basically I want a fun SUV with the safety and reliability that nissan offers in theri vehicles. Jeep Cherokee sport was my first choice but 2001 was the last year they made the model.
Thank you all for the feedback

The first thing you need to decide is between first Gen or second Gen Xterra.
00-04 is first gen (with some minor changes in the 02-04 from the 00-01's)
05+ is second gen, and come with significant changes over the earlier models, the most noteworthy being the 265hp engine (rather than 155-170)
The '04 will therefore be a lot cheaper than you'd expect compared to the '05, but, the '05 will be larger and more powerful.
Either would work great though for your uses.
The S trim for the '05, and the SE trim for the '04 are what you are looking for.
Enjoy!

not really, or at least not yet. Maybe once I go with a group of people thn it might peak my curiosity. I live west of Chicago, so overall not much options around here.

Edit: Apparently I'm still learning to read.

I believe he has it already.
:D
Take off the running boards, mud flaps and rear sway bar to off road.
:D
Attica is somewhat close, a nice offroad dedicated park out your way...plus, there are local clubs that wheel in your area. The BEST way to find places to wheel, is to hook up with a local group.
The locals pretty much always help each other to put mods on (mod days/mod parties, etc...) and tell you the best places to get parts/tires, etc. as well.
Enjoy!

I dont remember how much it cost... but it's more free-flowing so it helps with mpg. It also lasts basically forever, you just clean and re-oil it.
