Just wanted to share a little story about Warn and their customer service. Last month I went on a run in Harlan KY and I ended up killing my fancy Warn Powerplant Dualforce winch on my Toyota. I was stuck half way up a nasty rock garden and ended up pulling rope about 100' up the hill to get out. I was one POMF :censor: when my winch just stopped working and I still had about 75' of line still out. So I had to wrap it around my bumper. I tried everything to get it to start working again. I could hear the relay click but no action. Anyways when I got home I took the motor off and it was corroded pretty bad inside. From what I could tell a gasket was bad and let water in. The warranty on a warn winch is one year on electrical parts so I was gearing myself up to buy a new motor. I got on the Warn web site and found my motor and to my surprise it was almost $600, DAMN is right. So I call down to Line-X of Knoxville who is the Warn winch dealer in Knoxville, told them my story and he said they would do everything they could to help. A few minutes later he calls and tells me the Warn rep wanted me to give him a call so I did and to my surprise again he told me they would take care of it and send me a new motor. :) Here are a few pictures of the motor. These where taken after I took a wire brush and knocked a lot of corrosion off. You can see the armature has rust spots all over it. I got my new motor last week (ups), installed it but first I gave the inside a good coat of silicon spray and now I'm a happy camper again. Oh yeah I also broke the drivers side Birfield axle and bent my rear drive line up pretty bad in that garden, but hey if your gonna play you have to pay.

Birfield: I really do need a set of Longfield Chromoly axles but can't afford them right now.

Good deal man! I know it had peeved you pretty bad at CC that day when the switch kept crapping out on you. Same thing happened with one of the jeepers in my local club two weeks ago.

They also sent me a new air pressure switch free of charge. Got to love Warn.

They have so few failures that when something DOES go wrong, they pony up and take care of it.

I have a Warn 9.5 xp, and its been solid like a rock, despite practically LIVING in acidic bog water...and that winch has been on there since the day the xp came out.

Glad to hear that Warn takes care of its customers very well.

That should put my mind at ease with my XD9000.
