Hey folks,

thought I would try a forum since I can't seem to find anything for my problem.

I need to replace the complete tail light housing in my Xterra. I can get the housing out but can't get to electric plug to completly remove it because its stashed inside the interior quarter plastic pannel. I can see but can't get to it. I assume I need to remove the rear quarter plastic pannel but don't know how. Does anyone out there have information on this?

Thanks for the help
Mike

Is there a rubber grommett there? If so, pull the grommett out and then the plug.

Welcome the the club!

They are a little ways back in there. You can remove the few screws and just barely get your hand in there to unplug it.

Thanks everyone,

Yes there is a rubber grommett and when I pull that I can see the plug but there seems to be a clip or something holding it right at the plug so I assumed I have to pull the side plastic pannel to get to it. I can't reach the plug the way it is unless I can use a screw driver or something to release the plug from where it is attached. This also assumes there is enough wire after I do that to get to it.

Thanks again for the help

Mike

Hey everyone,

I hope this helps someone. I gently pulled on the interior plastic side quarter pannel and some plastic clips popped allowing me enough room to access the plug. When I was done I just pushed the pannel back in place.

Thanks for everyone's help!
