I have an 07 Xterra, with 75k.
When I turn the key the engine turns over but it just will not fire!
It takes about 10 minutes then all of the sudden it fires and it runs like a champ.
Any ideas?
I am a new Xterra owner, and LOVE IT!
Good bye Honda.....

Thanks

Weird! That's a new one on me.

I'm not familiar with the newer model xterras so I would be afraid to offer advice on what to check but be patient and one of our tech guru's will get you some answers today. Keep checking back with us and we'll get your X back in top form.

Thanks for the quick feedback!
I dropped it off at the dealer and will let you know what they had to repair.
I have only had it for four days! As soon as I get some pics I will post them.

Hey,
Got the X back last night.
And the dealer could not find anything wrong.
It starts like a charm and no error codes.
I guess I will just keep my fingers crossed from now on.

If it was the fuel pump, timing, miss fire, etc.... There would be something in the error codes. But all is clean.

Could be a few things...like a shot of bad gas/gas that sat too long, etc...condensation build-up, loose ground wire, etc.

:D

Hopefully, it will never happen again.

What I have seen is that the NEW X's have problems with the batteries. Let it idele for a long time and you should be fine. All our X's would die, but then we let them idle for an hour and they ahve been fine since.

Ok, I hate to revive and old thread, but I have a similar issue, It did it the second day I had my and and now a month later it did it again. But seeing the possible bad gas issue, could be it i ran through half a tank and got poor milage, and the half tank before that was great, it was the same trip just in reverse. So I'm kind of leaning on bad gas, anybody else got any ideas?
