Well...here it is...My plates are probably my favorite thing on the whole X right now, and I'd like to change that.

This is a shot of the dent in the rear LH side. How ever, not an hour after this picture was taken, my mom brought me home a new LH fascia. So now I have a brand new, not-cracked-fascia :D I was pretty lucky...I was on CL last night and typed in "xterra" for the heck of it. The fascia that i needed was one of the first results and they live 5 minutes away and only wanted $30.

This is somethin weird going on with my hood...I don't know what it is nor how to fix it...Help?

Well that's all I got so far...There's not much to see at the moment. There's LOTS of little scratches in the paint I'd like to fix eventually. I want to paint all the exterior plastic pretty soon. But...I think I'm going to be forced to buy all the paint myself, but I have no job so we'll see how that works out.

welcome. Your X ain't bad. Just alittle TLC will fix her right up. That thing on your hood might be your clear coat. I'm sure someone will chime in and tell you how you can fix it.

welcome. Nice X. the hood looks to definitely be the clear coat. I think the only real good fix is to have it recleared.

Welcome! Clear coat is what I think it is too.

Thanks for the diagnosis. Lol, now how do I fix it? Does it need to just go see a body shop?

Ya you have to go to a body shop to have that fixed but it's going to be expensive...

You could just get creative with some herculiner and paint.

Welcome to the club!

If I was trying to fix it on the cheap and make it look cool at the same time, I would:

1) tape off the center of the hood at the body lines.
2) use 600 grit wet/dry sand paper and water to sand it all smooth (make sure you get all the shine off, but try not to go all the way to the metal).
3) mask off the rest of the hood and X so you don't get overspray on it,
4) paint it with some good quality rattle can semi gloss black (because it will have some UV protection in it)
5) unmask it, and now you have something that people pay a ton of money for that looks cool (and it was cheap) and everybody thinks you did it because it was cool, not because it was bad under there.

Basicly like this.

That sounds like a really good idea, Creepy. Would the new paint hold up to the weather okay?

By body lines, do you mean the indentions on the hood?
