I had visited your site in the past with minor questions I had with my X and just finally got around to joining. I've got a Denim Blue 2000 SE 4X4 with nearly 160,000 miles on the odo. I bought her used in '06 with just over 100,000. I've put new plugs and plug wires, new distributor cap and rotor, new battery, and new brakes and rotor on the front end, new fuel sending unit, and 32" BFG Radial Long Trails. Mother-in-law recently backed into the right front and took out the grill, both headlights, and the right front fender. Insurance took care of everything and even fixed some of the other "wrinkles" my X had. No major mods to speak of other than removing the baffles from the intake. I'd like to try and get the rear brakes done sometime this summer and might try and put a CAI on if I can justify the cash with my wife. I've also thought about trying to put some DIY bedliner on some of the plastic moldings around the back i.e. the bumper and maybe the side-step rails (stock rails for now). I'll try and get some pics up in the future.

Welcome! Have you had the timing belt replaced since you bought it or was it done prior to the purchase? It's due at 106,000 miles... You might want to have it checked out if not. Anyway glad yo have you!

The previous owner had purchased an extended warranty for the truck and had used the Nissan maintenance schedule like a bible. The water pump was replaced somewhere around 95,000 to 100,000 so I was guessing it was changed with the pump. Is there a simple way to check the life left in a belt that would put my worries at ease? Also, is it worth putting money into a new water pump while I've got it torn down?

Welcome to the Club. Would it be possible to ask the previous owner if he had the timing belt changed?

I wish. There's a lot I'd like to know about who drove and how. But the truck was actually a repo (from what I know) and all I have to go by is the reciepts for maintenance that I found in the glovebox. There's only a gap of about 10,000 miles that I can't account for any service being done.
