Hello eveyone,

I have never really said hello since I joined this site. I just usually read and throw a comment here and there.

Question:

When my X transmission is in park, sometimes it is hard to shift it into another gear. This doesnt happen al the time but, enough to make me ask if anyone else has ever had this problem.

This is an 06' X !!

Any feed back would be appreciated.

thanks from Orlando,FL

Your foot has to be on the brake before it will move out of park. Also if you park on a hill(a hill in FL?) pull parking brake on before shifting into park. When restarting shift to drive before releasing brake.

1st ive heard or read of this problem in 2nd gens. try what jhow66 says. if setting the parking brake before and after putting it in park, eliminates the problem on an incline you have a binding problem. our binding problem was never solved setting the ebrake only solution. biggest pita!!!!!!! we ever had with r jeep. if that doesnt make a difference it could be the foot on the brake switch good luck

Could be the shift lock mechanism sticking in the shifter. Since it's under warranty take it to the dealer and have it checked out. Let us know what the verdict is if you would.

Cool, much appreciated ... I will make sure I push the brake petal to the floor and if i still have a prob..off to the dealer I go.. I will let you know how it all goes.

Thanks everyone for your input.
